Cristina Astier is a Visiting Researcher at the Political Sciences Department of Central European University (CEU) during 2023. She holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF, 2022) and is a Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Fellow at UPF, funded by the Spanish Government. Previously, she served as an Adjunct Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Barcelona (UB).
Her research focuses on relational equality, democratic institutions, discrimination, trade justice, climate change, and feminism. She has conducted visiting research at the University of Oxford and the European University Institute, and leads projects on post-pandemic politics at the Institute of Democratic Governance in San Sebastián. She collaborates with the Governments of Navarre and the Basque Country.
Key professional roles include Project Manager of an ERC Consolidator Grant at Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), Knowledge Manager at UPF's Humanities Department, and coordination of EU-funded projects (FP7, EIT Health, Erasmus+).
