Cristian Tileaga is a Reader in Social Psychology at Loughborough University, UK, where he has been since 2008. He holds a BSc from the University of Iași, Romania, and a PhD in Social Psychology from Loughborough University (2005). His work focuses on social psychology, political discourse, prejudice, and collective memory. Tileaga has held roles including Senior Lecturer (2013–2020) and Lecturer (2008–2013) at Loughborough. He serves on editorial boards of journals like Journal of Community and Applied Social Psychology and co-edits the Palgrave Studies in Discursive Psychology book series.
His research explores discursive psychology, ideologies of exclusion, and the intersection of psychology with history. Notable books include The Nature of Prejudice (2015) and Political Psychology: Critical Perspectives (2013). Tileaga’s work addresses themes like moral exclusion, Roma minorities, and reconciliation with communist pasts. His publications span over 15 years, analyzing discourse in political rhetoric, historical narratives, and social inequality.
Tileaga’s interdisciplinary approach bridges psychology, sociology, and history, emphasizing language’s role in constructing social realities.
