معرفی
Dr Craig Yu serves as a Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, and holds a College Research Associate position at Emmanuel College. His work centers on advancing organic semiconductor technologies for next-generation optoelectronic applications.
His academic journey includes:
- BSc in Chemistry from the University of Toronto
- MSc in Materials Chemistry from the University of Ottawa
- PhD from the University of Tokyo as a JSPS fellow under Profs. Toshihiro Okamoto and Jun Takeya
Dr Yu's research integrates organic electronics and polymer physics to investigate charge transport-electroluminescence relationships in π-conjugated polymers, specifically targeting organic electrically-pumped laser development. His methodology bridges molecular design with device engineering to overcome fundamental limitations in organic optoelectronics.
He has received the competitive JSPS Fellowship for doctoral research and the prestigious Herchel Smith Research Fellowship for his postdoctoral work at Cambridge.
His current research is funded through the Herchel Smith Research Fellowship, supporting investigations into π-conjugated polymer systems. Dr Yu operates within the Department of Chemistry's semiconductor research ecosystem under the mentorship of Professors Hugo Bronstein and Henning Sirringhaus, contributing to Cambridge's leadership in organic electronic materials.
