Craig Willis

Craig Willis is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the School of Information Sciences, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on computational reproducibility, transparency in research, and scientific metadata. He holds a PhD in Information Sciences from UIUC, an MLS from UNC Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Willis has led projects like the NSF-funded Whole Tale platform for reproducible computational research and the Transparency Certified initiative. He contributes to research infrastructure such as the HTMDEC data management system and the National Data Service's Workbench platform. His work emphasizes improving verification methods for computational artifacts and fostering open science practices.
