Craig S. Keener

Craig S. Keener serves as the F. M. and Ada Thompson Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. With a Ph.D. from Duke University, he is a prolific scholar whose work bridges academic rigor with practical ministry application. His research spans New Testament studies, biblical backgrounds, historical Jesus research, and contemporary theological issues.

His academic journey began with a B.A. from Central Bible College (now part of Evangel University) in 1982, followed by M.A. and M.Div. degrees from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 1985 and 1987, culminating in a Ph.D. from Duke University in 1991.

Dr. Keener's research interests encompass New Testament backgrounds, Acts, the Historical Jesus, Miracles, the Gospels, and Ethnic/Racial Reconciliation.
