Craig Orr is a Lecturer in Childhood Practice (Educational Leadership & Policy) at the University of Glasgow. He holds a BA(Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies and an MEd in Childhood Practice from the University of Glasgow, and is nearing completion of a PhD exploring collaborative improvement in children's services. His research focuses on inter-agency collaboration, systems development, and co-creation of knowledge using methods like Social Network Analysis and Cultural Historical Activity Theory.
He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and edited volumes, including sections in Childhood Practice: A Reflective and Evidence-based Approach (2023) and Instructional Leadership and Leadership for Learning in Schools (2019). His work addresses policy implementation, leadership in education, and place-based interventions in socio-economically disadvantaged areas.
Orr teaches courses such as Leadership, Values and Vision (PGD Childhood Practice) and oversees practice placements for undergraduate students. He has supervised the Childhood Practice MEd program since 2018 and previously taught Education MSc students.
