Craig Hedge is a Lecturer in Psychology at Aston University's School of Psychology, within the College of Health and Life Sciences. He holds affiliations with the Fraud Research Group, Cognition & Neuroscience Research Group (CNRG), Aston Research Centre for Health in Ageing, and Aston Institute of Health & Neurodevelopment. Previously, he served as a Research Fellow in Cognitive Modelling at Cardiff University Brain Imaging Centre (2017–2021) and a Research Associate at Cardiff University (2013–2017). He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol (2013), an MRes from the University of Sussex (2008), and a BA from the University of Winchester (2007).
His research focuses on individual differences in cognitive control and decision-making, exploring how lab-based decision metrics relate to real-life decisions. Key interests include reliable cognitive measures, working memory, visual attention, and impulsivity, using methods like cognitive modelling, eye tracking, and neuroimaging. He currently teaches courses such as Key Skills in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience theories.
Research highlights include studies on test-retest reliability of social cognitive tasks, smart speaker applications for speech difficulties, and the WAND multimodal brain dataset. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University (2021–2024). His work addresses translational challenges in cognition, bridging experimental psychology with clinical and technological applications.
