Craig Albert is a Professor and Graduate Director of the MAISS Program at Augusta University. He holds academic appointments in the Department of Social Sciences within the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. His roles include leading admissions and curriculum committees for MAISS, and contributing to academic policies and graduate programs university-wide.
Albert earned his Ph.D., MA, and BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and Augusta State University. He holds certifications in Advanced Placement assessment, sexual abuse risk management, and religious safeguarding. His research focuses on security studies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence applications in military contexts, ethnic conflict, and computational analysis of social media propaganda. Recent work explores the intersection of technology, global security, and public health, including studies on AI in non-major states, epidemiological intelligence fusion centers, and Middle Eastern propaganda campaigns.
His service contributions span Augusta University committees such as the Graduate School Advisory Group, Academic Policies, and Integrated Studies. He also serves as an associate editor for Politics and the Life Sciences and reviewer for multiple journals. Professional and community roles include involvement with the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Church organizations.
