Nadia Jilani-Hyler is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She is pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the University of South Carolina while holding a MA (2014) and BA (2004) from the same institution and Augusta State University respectively. Her research focuses on international political economy, conflict studies, and Middle East security with specialization in economic sanctions' impact.
Teaching responsibilities include introductory American government, international security studies, and Middle East security courses. She coordinates Augusta University's Model UN programs, leading annual study-away trips to New York. Service roles include chairing the POLS Curriculum Committee since 2019, mentoring through the Georgia Political Science Association, and organizing AU's Arts in the Heart of Augusta events.
Notable recognition includes the 2018 Women's Volleyball Faculty Recognition Night award. Her scholarship bridges political economy frameworks with conflict analysis, particularly exploring how trade networks influence geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
