Courtney Spence is a PhD candidate and Tutor at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences under the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. She holds Bachelor degrees in Law and Criminology (2021), an Honours degree in Criminology (First Class, 2022), and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (2024), all from the University of Adelaide.
Her research focuses on autism within the criminal justice system, aiming to improve access to justice for autistic individuals. Her Honours thesis examined biometric technologies’ role in combating child sexual abuse material, addressing ethical and legal challenges. She teaches courses including 'Explaining Crime and Deviance,' 'Introduction to Law,' 'Cybercrime and Cyber-deviance,' and 'Foundations of Law.'
Courtney is linked to the Adelaide Cybercrime Laboratory and contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on cybercrime, legal practices, and forensic criminology.
