Courtney E Boen is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Brown University and a Faculty Affiliate at the Population Studies and Training Center. Previously, she held the Axilrod Faculty Fellowship and an Assistant Professorship at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on social and political drivers of health inequities, mortality patterns, and structural determinants of population health. She employs critical theories of inequality and life course perspectives, combining demographic techniques with sociological insights.
