CoryAnne Harrigan is a Professor of English at Simpson College, serving as the Interim Academic Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs while heading Division B within the Department of Literature, Language, and Culture.
Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.A. from Purdue University and a B.A. from Mary Washington College.
Dr. Harrigan specializes in British literature with deep expertise in Chaucer, Sidney, Spenser, and Shakespeare, particularly examining international film adaptations of Shakespearean works. Her research bridges epic poetry analysis with linguistic studies and cinematic interpretation.
Her scholarly publications reveal consistent focus on classical-Renaissance literary connections and cross-cultural Shakespeare adaptations, demonstrating how film reinterpretations illuminate textual complexities in enduring works.
