Cortni Borgerson is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Montclair State University and a National Geographic Explorer. Her research investigates human-wildlife interactions, focusing on lemur conservation and sustainable food systems in Madagascar.
Research combines ethnography, ecology, and public health to address child malnutrition and endangered species protection. Field initiatives include edible insect cultivation ('Bacon Bugs') to improve nutrition and reduce hunting pressure.
Courses include Physical Anthropology, Primate Behavior, and Planetary Health, often taught in partnership with zoos.
