معرفی
Dr. Cornelis Kasse is a Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on Quaternary geology, geomorphology, and tectonic-climatic interactions, with contributions to understanding Holocene climate change impacts on fluvial systems and sedimentary processes. He has supervised 12 PhD theses and contributed to over 170 peer-reviewed publications.
Key research areas include Holocene environmental responses, fluvial terrace evolution, and paleoseismology in rift systems. His work bridges sedimentology, tectonics, and climate science, addressing topics like Quaternary climate variability and human-induced environmental changes. He serves on editorial boards for journals such as the Netherlands Journal of Geosciences.
Recent studies highlight collaborations on the Meuse River system's climatic and tectonic drivers, Miocene depocenters in the Roer Valley Rift, and paleo-earthquake analysis along fault zones. His contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and sustainable land management.
