Professor Corinne May-Chahal is a leading academic in applied social science at Lancaster University's Sociology Department, part of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her work focuses on cybersecurity, child protection, and the socio-technical dimensions of human security. She co-leads the iCOP project (EU Safer Internet Program), developing forensic tools to combat child abuse media, and the UDesignIT initiative (EPSRC-funded), leveraging social media for youth safety. Her research spans policy impacts, such as contributions to the WHO's World Report on Violence and Health, and comparative studies on child welfare across Europe.
