Prof. Dr. Corinna Titze serves as Professor of Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Society and Economics, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, appointed in 2019. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications in educational and psychological settings.
Dr. Titze earned her psychology degree and doctorate from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Her doctoral research investigated gender effects in mental rotation performance across developmental stages, analyzing psychosocial and test-specific influencing factors.
Her primary research centers on emotional labor within educational contexts, examining how professionals maintain mental health and work quality despite high psychological demands, staff shortages, and inadequate compensation. She investigates emotion regulation skills—both intrapersonal and interpersonal—as critical mechanisms for sustaining well-being and professional effectiveness. This work directly addresses social sustainability challenges in pedagogical fields.
Dr. Titze leads the ewox (emotion work experience) initiative, which develops experiential training in emotional labor management for educators. Her professional background includes significant applied experience: as a psychological expert witness in family courts assessing custody and child endangerment cases, a therapist at an LVR hospital's child/adolescent clinic, and counselor at Wesel district's school psychology center. She holds additional qualifications in mediation, family therapy, and is currently pursuing systemic child/adolescent psychotherapy certification.
