Corey J. A. Bradshaw is the Matthew Flinders Professor of Global Ecology at Flinders University, Australia. He also leads the Node for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous and Environmental Histories and Futures and co-founded Future Child Health. His research focuses on global ecological challenges, including climate change impacts, biodiversity conservation, and human demographic pressures. Bradshaw holds a PhD in Zoology from the University of Otago (1999) and has held academic positions at Flinders University since 2008, including roles as a Chair and Director of Ecological Modelling.
Bradshaw’s work spans interdisciplinary studies, from modeling megafauna extinctions and human migration to assessing invasive species’ economic costs. He has authored influential books like The Effective Scientist and contributed to over 400 peer-reviewed publications. His grants include ARC funding for genetic rescue strategies, Indigenous heritage projects, and shark management research.
Notable awards include the 2023 Vice-Chancellor’s Research Leadership Award and inclusion in the 2021 Reuters Top Climate Scientists list. Bradshaw advocates for science-based policy solutions, emphasizing the interdependence of human well-being and environmental sustainability.
Key research themes include: climate-driven biodiversity loss, human population dynamics, and conservation strategies for threatened species. His labs and collaborative teams address global-scale ecological challenges using computational modeling and interdisciplinary approaches.
