معرفی
Dr. Damien Fordham is Associate Professor in Global Change Ecology at the University of Adelaide and Deputy Director of the Environment Institute. His research integrates ecology, climate science, and computational methods to understand biodiversity responses to environmental change. He has developed widely-used ecological modeling frameworks that inform conservation policy for threatened species.
Research interests focus on:
- Climate change impacts on species distributions
- Conservation biology and extinction prevention
- Ecological forecasting using paleoecological data
- Computational approaches to biodiversity modeling
Publications emphasize climate-biodiversity relationships, extinction mechanisms, and marine ecosystem vulnerability. His work combines empirical data with simulation models to project future ecological scenarios.
Awards include Dean’s Commendations and prestigious ARC fellowships recognizing his contributions to conservation science.
Has supervised 20+ students including 11 PhDs, with mentees winning awards and securing positions at leading institutions. Leads multiple ARC projects and international collaborations developing conservation tools.
