Prof. Dr. Cord Siemon is a Professor of Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2016. Previously, he held a professorship in General Business Administration (with emphasis on start-ups) at the Technical University Brandenburg. His research interests span start-up financing, entrepreneurship education, and the application of Joseph A. Schumpeter’s developmental theories within modern economic frameworks. He actively advises start-ups and contributes to the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurial methodologies.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Entrepreneurship for Bachelor and Master programs, Study Skills, and Introduction to Business Administration. His academic leadership roles include serving as Managing Director of the IFE (Institute for Entrepreneurship), fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between academia and industry.
Research highlights include exploring effectuation vs. causation strategies in start-up contexts, the role of business plans and models (e.g., Business Model Canvas), and historical analyses of economic theories.
