Greville G. Corbett is a British academic born on 23 December 1947, currently serving as a Professor at the University of Surrey in the Department of Linguistic and International Studies. His career spans over three decades at the University of Surrey, including roles as Distinguished Professor (2002–) and Foundation Research Professor (2000–).
Research Interests: Primarily focused on linguistics, with a canonical approach to typology and morphology. Key contributions include the development of Network Morphology (with Norman Fraser), the typology of grammatical features (gender, number), and cross-cultural studies on color categorization. Collaborative work spans diverse language families (Austronesian, Bantu, Daghestanian).
