Dr. David Gyorfi is a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey's Surrey Morphology Group. He holds a PhD and specializes in the syntax, semantics, and typology of Turkic languages, particularly focusing on auxiliary verb constructions, tense-aspect-modality systems, and historical linguistics. His current Leverhulme Trust-funded project investigates 'Analogical growth of grammatical systems,' analyzing auxiliary verbs across global languages. He is an expert in modern and old Turkic varieties like Turkish, Kazakh, Uzbek, and Tatar.
