Consuelo Cruz

Consuelo Cruz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in Latin American politics, comparative politics, and empirical theory. Previously, she taught at Columbia University and held roles at the World Bank and international banking institutions. Her research examines institutional development, political culture, and democratization processes in Latin America, notably through her seminal work Political Culture and Institutional Development in Costa Rica and Nicaragua (2005), recognized as a Choice Outstanding Academic Title.
