Dr Constantinos Yiallourides is a Senior Lecturer (Tenured Assoc.Prof.) in International Law at Macquarie Law School. He concurrently serves as Deputy Director of the Centre of Environmental Law (CEL) and affiliate member of the Transforming Energy Markets Research Centre. As Research Leader at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), he specializes in law of the sea and energy law training. Previously, he held tenured positions at the University of Aberdeen and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo. His expertise spans territorial disputes, maritime boundaries, environmental law, and peaceful dispute resolution, funded by AHRC, British Academy, JSPS, and others. He advises governments and international bodies on maritime and energy law issues, and has authored/co-authored books like Maritime Disputes and International Law (2019) and International Fisheries Law (2025). Awards include the ILA 2021 Scholarship Award and A.G. Leventis Scholarship (2012).
Research focuses on energy transition legal frameworks, maritime jurisdictional challenges, and straddling resources management. He teaches International Law and Law of the Sea courses, and collaborates internationally on projects addressing climate change and marine sustainability. His work bridges legal scholarship with practical policy advice, particularly in CO₂ storage zones and transboundary resource cooperation.
