His research spans applied ethics and social/political philosophy with emphases on children's rights, animal ethics, sexual ethics, and the philosophy of humor. He actively develops positions on parental licensing, decriminalizing defensive child rescue from abusive homes, racial randomization in adoption, and strong comic immoralism (arguing moral defects always enhance comedic value), with key publications in The Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism. Current projects include a book on child welfare policy and analyses of beauty norms, identity abolition, and moral limits of academic inquiry.
Dr. Kianpour engages in public philosophy through conferences and his professional website, welcoming academic collaboration via email.
