Cong Zhou is a researcher at the University of Manchester's CRUK Manchester Institute, specializing in cancer biomarkers and data science. He holds a PhD in computational biology (2009) and previously served as a Lecturer in biomarker statistics at the Institute of Cancer Research (2014-2018). Currently, he leads the National Biomarker Centre as a statistician, focusing on anti-angiogenesis therapies and precision medicine. His work has generated 42 peer-reviewed papers, secured £4M in research funding, and led five clinical trials.
Research emphasizes integrating multi-omics data and clinical trials to identify biomarkers like Tie2, pivotal for VEGF inhibitor response. Notable projects include the VALTIVE1 trial (2020) validating Tie2 in ovarian cancer and pioneering lung cancer screening studies.
