Collen Désiré is a distinguished academic and former Professor at KU Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Vermont College of Medicine (USA). He retired in 2008 after serving as Director of the Center for Thrombosis and Vascular Research (now part of the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Molecular and Vascular Biology) and the VIB Department for Transgene Technology and Gene Therapy (now VIB-KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology). His career spans over 25 years as a Professor in Biochemistry and Medicine, focusing on thrombosis, haemostasis, and vascular biology.
Research Interests: His work bridges basic science and clinical applications, emphasizing translational research in drug development, particularly in cardiovascular and oncological therapies. His contributions to understanding vascular biology mechanisms have had significant clinical implications.
