Colleen Honigsberg serves as Professor of Law and Associate Dean of Curriculum at Stanford Law School, where she holds the Bernard Bergreen Faculty Scholar designation. She is Faculty Co-Director of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic and Policy Research (SIEPR).
Her research focuses on the empirical study of corporate and securities law, with particular expertise in accounting, financial regulation, and corporate governance. Professor Honigsberg serves as Associate Editor for Management Science and has published in leading journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Law & Economics, Stanford Law Review, and Journal of Accounting Research. Her work has been featured in the Economist, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times.
Professor Honigsberg currently serves on the Executive Committee of the SEC's Investor Advisory Committee and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia Business School (2016), J.D. from Columbia Law School (2011), and B.S. from UCLA (2005). Prior to academia, she worked as a Certified Public Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services and Compass Lexecon, and served as Senior Economic Research Fellow at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
