Colin Scott is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University, specializing in Indigenous cosmologies, environmental knowledge systems, and resource management. His research focuses on the ethical and instrumental dimensions of traditional ecological practices among the James Bay Cree (since 1976) and Torres Strait Islanders (since 1996), examining how indigenous notions of land/sea rights intersect with state governance and legal frameworks.
