Colin Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Wolverhampton. He has held administrative roles, including Head of Quality (2013) and Interim Head of the School of Pharmacy (2018).
- Education: PhD in Pharmacology (University of Keele, 1993), BSc (Pharmacology, 1988)
- Expertise: Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Vascular Tone Regulation, P2Y Purinergic Receptors
Research interests focus on the molecular pharmacology of P2Y purinergic receptors and their role in vascular tone maintenance. His work involves:
- Isolation and culture of human/bovine endothelial cells
- Receptor expression profiling and functional assays
- Development of subtype-specific ligands and antibodies
Publications trends include studies on:
- Purinergic receptor pharmacology (P2Y)
- Drug metabolism and clinical outcomes
- Endothelial cell model validation
- Prostaglandin pathways in vascular resistance
- Receptor antagonist development
- Comparative analysis of cell lines
