معرفی
Colin Bradley is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria (UVic). His expertise spans manufacturing automation, design engineering, and advanced sensor systems. He holds a PhD and is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng). His research focuses on adaptive optics for astronomy, exoplanet imaging, and fiber-optic sensor technologies.
Bradley has contributed to major projects like the Gemini Planet Imager (GPI) and the Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer, advancing instrumentation for large telescopes. His work integrates mechanical engineering principles with cutting-edge optical systems. Recent research includes developing high-contrast imaging techniques, photon-counting wavefront sensors, and novel gas sensing methods using photonic crystal fibers.
He has collaborated on international initiatives such as the NSERC CREATE program for observatory technologies and the TIKI project for Earth-like planet detection. His publications span adaptive optics, sensor design, and mechanical control systems for robotics and underwater vehicles.
