Colin Avogadri is a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Research Fellow) in the Department of Physics at Purdue University, working in Professor Michael Manfra's research group at the Birck Nanotechnology Center since July 2023.
His educational background includes:
- PhD in Physics from the University of Montpellier, France (2023)
- MSc in Condensed Matter Physics from Sorbonne-Universités, Paris, France (2019)
- BSc in Fundamental Physics from Université Paris-Sud, Paris, France (2017)
His research focuses on experimental condensed matter systems, particularly topological quantum phenomena. His doctoral work examined the quantum spin Hall effect in III-V semiconductor materials, and at Purdue he fabricates mesoscopic devices for ultra-low temperature measurements to investigate anyon properties in the fractional quantum Hall regime, with implications for topological quantum computing.
He operates within the Manfra research group utilizing nanofabrication and cryogenic facilities at the Birck Nanotechnology Center.
