Colette Taylor

Colette Taylor is Professor and Founding Director of the Center for Social Transformation and Leadership at Seattle University's College of Education. Her scholarship examines leadership development in marginalized communities, organizational inclusivity, and equity-focused institutional change.

With 14+ years of higher education administration experience, Taylor analyzes how universities can reconfigure structures to support underrepresented groups. She developed models for inclusive leadership practice that bridge academic and community settings.

Her research portfolio includes studies on Black faculty experiences, community college gendered environments, and intercultural mental health consultation. Recent publications explore generational leadership narratives and authentic engagement in diversity dialogues.

Taylor serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education and Journal of Student Affairs Research. She advances engagement scholarship through ASCHE, ILA, and NASPA, focusing on transformative leadership in educational organizations.
