Irina Golubeva

Dr. Irina Golubeva is a Professor of Intercultural Communication at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she previously served as the INCC MA Program Director (2020-2023) and currently co-directs the Intercultural Leadership Certificate Program. She teaches courses in Intercultural Communication, Pragmatics, and Intercultural Training across four languages (English, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish).

Her research focuses on developing multilingual awareness, intercultural competence, internationalization of higher education, and conceptualizing intercultural citizenship. She investigates how digital tools and pedagogical innovations can foster inclusive learning environments and cross-cultural dialogue.

Recent publications explore innovative approaches to intercultural education through digital humanities, arts-based pedagogy, and ethical frameworks for citizenship education. Her work consistently addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion in global educational contexts.
