Colette M. Brooks

Colette M. Brooks is an Assistant Professor of Counseling with extensive clinical and academic experience. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner in Virginia, a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah, and holds multiple certifications, including National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

• Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from University of the Cumberlands
• M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of the Cumberlands (CACREP-accredited)
• M.Ed. in Education and Human Development from George Washington University

Her research focuses on culturally responsive teaching in counselor education, particularly within CACREP-accredited programs, and she has contributed to clinical supervision practices. Dr. Brooks has worked in community mental health and private practice, previously owning a multi-location practice until 2021, and now supports emerging counselors through clinical training and licensure guidance.
