Dr. Cody Weaver serves as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy within the School of Arts & Sciences at Oklahoma City University, a position he has held since 2019.
His academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma (2021), specializing in ancient Greek philosophy with emphasis on Aristotle
- M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Biola University, California (graduated magna cum laude)
- M.S. and B.A. in counseling psychology with vocational rehabilitation focus from East Central University, Oklahoma
Dr. Weaver's research expertise centers on Ancient Greek Philosophy, Ethics, Metaphysics, and Philosophy of Religion, with active investigations extending to Medieval Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, and Epistemology. Current projects critically examine the nature of personhood, theoretical models of the Trinity, divine concurrence mechanisms, the ontology of evil, Aristotle's perception theory, and structural frameworks of moral virtue and vice.
As an engaged member of the American Philosophical Association and Society of Christian Philosophers, he contributes to scholarly discourse through conference participation, guest lectures, and dedicated student mentorship aimed at advancing philosophical inquiry.
