Clodagh Brook is a Professor in Italian and Fellow of Trinity College Dublin. She holds a DPhil from Oxford University and BA/MA degrees from University College Dublin. Her research focuses on identity, political voice, and intermediality in Italian culture. She leads the Interdisciplinary Italy project (2015–present), exploring interart practices from 1900 to the digital era. Her work spans monographs on Italian cinema, poetry, and media under Berlusconi's influence. She has organized international conferences and co-edited volumes on transmedia and intercultural studies.

Research Interests: Two key strands: 1) Minority voices and political dissent in media/public sphere, including religious minorities in Italy. 2) Intermediality and interdisciplinary approaches in Italian arts, with a focus on cinema, literature, and digital convergence. Recent work examines postsecularism and transnational cultural dynamics.
Awards & Leadership: 2022 Trinity College Fellowship. Former Associate Vice Provost for EDI at Trinity (2019–21). Led Modern Languages at University of Birmingham (2012–15). Holds editorial roles in Italian Studies and Italica.
Teaching: Specializes in interdisciplinary pedagogy and inclusive curriculum design. Founded Trinity’s Inclusive Curriculum Programme (2020). Lectures on Italian cinema, literature, and cultural history.
Grants: Secured £680k AHRC grant for Interdisciplinary Italy (2015–20). Mentor for postdoctoral fellows in digital humanities and media studies.
Labs/Initiatives: Co-director of Trinity’s Interdisciplinary Italy Summer School (2018–present). Collaborated with the Estorick Collection and school educators to bridge academia and public engagement.
