Adele Bardazzi is a Research Fellow in Italian at Trinity College Dublin and an Honorary Faculty Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary poetry, with a particular emphasis on lyric poetry (especially elegy), mourning discourses, translation, and intermediality. She holds a DPhil from Christ Church, Oxford, and a BA from Royal Holloway, University of London, and has held visiting fellowships at institutions including USC and NYU.
Her key projects include an interdisciplinary book on textile poetics, co-founding the Gender and Authority Research Network, and editing volumes on mourning in Italian poetry. She teaches modern Italian literature at Trinity College Dublin and has coordinated the ‘Italian Poetry Today’ seminar series. Awards include the Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship and grants from the John Fell Fund. Bardazzi’s work bridges literary studies, gender theory, and visual culture, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
