Clinton Andrew Grand Pré is a Researcher at Stony Brook University’s Renaissance School of Medicine, Department of Anatomical Sciences. He holds a PhD in Clinical Anatomy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (2024) and a PhD in Geology from the University of Pennsylvania (2011), with an MS in Geology from East Carolina University (2006) and a BS in Geology from Franklin and Marshall College (2003).

He investigates the hepatic piston mechanism in crocodylomorphs and its evolutionary implications, integrating geological and paleoenvironmental data to understand adaptation to aquatic environments. Earlier work involved paleoseismic and stratigraphic studies of subduction zones in Sumatra, Oregon, and North Carolina, using microfossils to reconstruct coseismic subsidence and climate-driven coastal changes.
Recent publications highlight advancements in 3D anatomical imaging, respiratory system evolution, and the hepatic piston’s osteological correlates. His work spans comparative evolutionary morphology, paleoseismology, and interdisciplinary applications of medical imaging.
