Clifford Bob is a Professor and Chair of Political Science at Duquesne University, holding the Raymond J. Kelley Endowed Chair in International Relations. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from MIT, a J.D. from NYU, and a B.A. from Harvard. His research focuses on human rights, global civil society, media's role in conflict, and transnational advocacy. He teaches courses on international relations, human rights policy, and comparative politics.
Dr. Bob is a prolific author, with notable works like The Marketing of Rebellion (2005) and Rights as Weapons (2019), which have won prestigious awards. He has held fellowships from institutions like the Social Science Research Council and the Fulbright Global Scholar program. His writings span academic journals, policy analyses, and media outlets like the Los Angeles Times and Foreign Policy.
His research explores how rights are strategically deployed in political conflicts, the dynamics of global right-wing movements, and the intersection of media, activism, and international support.
