Cliff Spyker is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Mount Royal University's Bissett School of Business. His research focuses on applying accounting principles to nonprofit sector governance, particularly analyzing financial and non-financial performance metrics for Canadian registered charities. He holds a BCom from the University of Saskatchewan and a CA designation, with PhD studies at the University of Calgary.

He has received significant funding including $20,000 from the Chartered Accountants Education Fund (2005-2006), $15,000 from MKS Learning Centre (2005-2007), and multiple University of Calgary awards. Awards include the 2009 American Accounting Association PhD Proposal Award ($1,500).
