معرفی
Claudio Cortes Rodriguez is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG), working within Professor Paul Riley’s research group. His current research focuses on cellular behaviors and mechanisms in human cardiac development as part of the Wellcome Trust Human Developmental Biology Initiative, collaborating with the Srinivas group (DPAG) and the Rawlins group (Cambridge).
- Education:
- BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Chile
- PhD in Molecular Genetics and Development from an Australian institution
His research spans developmental biology, molecular genetics, and live imaging. Early work in Australia explored ciliopathies through bench-to-bedside approaches, followed by specialized postdoctoral research in France on murine heart development and epithelial biology. His expertise includes lineage-tracing, cell behavior analysis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transitions.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to Retinoic acid signaling in muscle development and protocols for studying cardiac progenitor cells. He has also advanced understanding of genetic disorders like Jeune syndrome and skeletal dysplasia through investigations of intraflagellar transport and C2CD3 mutations.
Collaborative efforts include work with the Srinivas and Rawlins groups, emphasizing cross-institutional partnerships. His methodologies integrate advanced live imaging and molecular genetics to map human heart cellular composition.
