Claudio A. Guevara is a Researcher in the Department of Forest Engineering, Resources & Management at Oregon State University's College of Forestry. He holds a B.S. in Forest Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2015), an M.S. (2021) and Ph.D. (2023) in Sustainable Forest Management from Oregon State University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship (2024) in Restoration Ecology and Indigenous Knowledge, also at Oregon State University.
His research focuses on integrating traditional ecological knowledge, ethnobotany, and ecocultural restoration with modern scientific approaches. Key areas include wildfire science, forest health, biodiversity conservation, and environmental justice. He explores silvicultural practices and their ecological impacts, emphasizing socially and ecologically sustainable forest management.
His interdisciplinary work bridges ecological restoration, fire ecology, and community-driven conservation strategies. The postdoctoral research emphasizes Indigenous knowledge systems in restoration contexts, highlighting synergies between cultural preservation and ecological resilience.
