Claudia Stockinger is Professor of Modern German Literature (19th-21st century) at the Institute of German Literature, Humboldt University of Berlin's Faculty of Languages and Literature. Her research spans literary theory, narratology, and interdisciplinary studies with focus on rural literature, canon formation, and autobiographical writing genres including memoirs and travelogues.
Her scholarly activities include organizing key workshops such as Memoirs, Letters, Travelogues: Self-perception/External Determination at Historical Threshold Moments (February 2024), Rural Romance, and Canonization Practices in Literary Studies, plus co-organizing the final conference for the interdisciplinary project Medicine, Time, the Good Life.
Prof. Stockinger leads a research team comprising:

Office hours are held by appointment on Tuesdays 10:30-12:00 during summer semester 2025, and on August 5 and September 22, 2025 (14:00-16:00) during the lecture-free period through secretariat coordination.
