Prof. Claudia Garetto is a Professor of Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London, serving as Deputy Head of the School of Mathematical Sciences and Science and Engineering EDI Lead. She holds a visiting professorship at Loughborough University's School of Mathematical Sciences. Her research focuses on hyperbolic partial differential equations (PDEs), singular coefficients, and variable multiplicities, with contributions to microlocal analysis, pseudodifferential operators, and algebras of generalised functions. She co-organises the London Analysis and Probability Seminar and leads the UK Network on Hyperbolic Equations (LMS-funded). Her grants include EPSRC funding for projects on hyperbolic problems with discontinuous coefficients (2021–2025) and a prior project on hyperbolic systems with multiplicities (2014–2017).
