Dr. Claudette Pretorius is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin (UCD), focusing on digital mental health and human-computer interaction. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from UCD, an MA in Counselling Psychology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of South Africa. Her research explores online help-seeking behaviors, digital mental health interventions, and the design of technology to support youth mental well-being.
Dr. Pretorius has been awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and collaborated on the TEAM-ITN initiative, influencing the design of online mental health services. She coordinates modules like Computational Thinking and Industry Internship and supervises PhD research. Professional affiliations include ACM SIGCHI and the International Association for Youth Mental Health. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to advance digital mental health solutions.
