Dr. Clare Rathbone is a Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology at Oxford Brookes University's School of Psychology, Social Work and Public Health. She joined the faculty in 2012 after completing a PhD in Psychology (University of Leeds, 2010) and postdoctoral research at the University of Reading (2010-2012). Her research focuses on autobiographical memory, self-concept, and clinical populations, with notable work funded by the ESRC Future Research Leaders grant (2012-2015). She leads projects like the ARSEP-funded study on multiple sclerosis and identity integration (2021-2024) and collaborates on international initiatives like the Maldivian Sustainable Development project (2024-2025).
Research interests include the interplay between memory and self-identity, particularly in aging, autism, and developmental disorders. Her outreach includes STEM Ambassador roles and creative projects like the stage production 'What is the Self Worth?' (2013).
