Clare McGarrigle

Clare McGarrigle is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University's Manchester School of Art, where she leads the Fashion & Textiles Pathway in the Foundation department and serves as Admissions Tutor. She holds an MA in Costume Design for Performance (Distinction) from London College of Fashion, a PGCE from the University of Huddersfield, and a First Class BA (Hons) in Embroidery from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Her research explores costume design as a catalyst for interdisciplinary performance, with interests spanning visual arts, art education, and collaborative creation. McGarrigle is a member of the Art and Performance Research Hub.

Professional achievements include designing costumes for productions like 'Liturgie' (Spectra Ensemble) and 'Figurines' (Lola Maury Dance), and exhibiting internationally at venues including Prague Quadrennial and World Stage Design 2017 where she received a Bronze Prize.
