معرفی
Professor Clare Bryant holds dual appointments at the University of Cambridge in both the Department of Medicine and the Department of Veterinary Medicine. She is a veterinarian with a thriving research career and a significant teaching role, maintaining a balance between these responsibilities in Cambridge's academic environment.
- Collaborations: Works with Pietro Cicuta (Physics), Julia Gog (DAMTP), and Ray Goldstein (DAMTP)
- Teaching: Delivers example classes on MODA/Pharmacology examinations and supervises Part II projects and PhD students
- Research Focus: Host-pathogen interactions, pattern recognition receptors, and inflammatory disease mechanisms
Her research explores how bacteria are detected by the host through pattern recognition receptors, and how pathogen detection links to inflammatory diseases like allergies. She uses interdisciplinary approaches including mathematical modeling, optical tweezers, and real-time imaging to study bacterial interactions with cells and respiratory tissues.
Recent publications highlight trends in:
- Toll-like receptor signaling and inflammasome activation
- Microbiome-immune system interactions
- Neuroinflammation and protein aggregation studies
- Advanced imaging and microfluidic technologies for single-cell analysis
Her work has direct applications in understanding disease progression (ARDS, neurodegeneration, cancer immunotherapy) and developing novel diagnostic tools.
