معرفی
Dr. Clare Bird is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Stirling. Her research focuses on marine microbial responses to environmental change, particularly studying foraminifera in polar and sub-polar seas. She investigates how environmental parameters and biological factors influence shell chemistry, with implications for paleoenvironmental reconstructions and climate change impacts.
Career Highlights:
- Lecturer in Molecular Cell Biology (2020–present)
- Anniversary Research Fellow (2018–2020)
- Daphne Jackson Fellow (2013–2015)
- PhD in Molecular Microbiology (1997–2001)
Research Themes:
- Trophic interactions of planktonic foraminifera
- Calcifying mechanisms and ocean acidification resilience
- Environmental biogeochemistry and Arctic ecosystem adaptation
Affiliations:
- Committee member, BES Learning and Teaching (Employability Champion)
