Dr. Clara Montgomery is a Lecturer in the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), joining in January 2024. Previously, she held a Lecturer position at Harper Adams University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Bristol, where she also earned her MSci and PhD. Her research focuses on urban insect conservation, specifically the use of solitary bee hotels, and public engagement in urban ecology. Pedagogically, she explores barriers to education for commuting students and innovative teaching methods like games and humor.
Education: MSci, PhD, and postdoctoral work at the University of Bristol. Teaching includes courses on Ecology and Evolution, Practical Biology, Immunology, and Reproductive Biology. Research publications span pollinator electrostatic interactions, pandemic behavior studies, and parasitology in wildlife. Her work bridges ecology, pedagogy, and applied conservation.
